OGT News: What districts are doing about students failing the OGT

Schools in Ross and Pike counties came up with different solutions for students who did not qualify to graduate because of failing one or more portions of the Ohio Graduation Test. Chillicothe High Shcool maintained that students who failed to complete all five parts could not participate in graduation ceremonies. However, guidance counselors at Wayne Trace and Waverly High School felt as though students who have not passed all portions should be allowed to participate, if they had completed all other requirements. Several of the students who did not pass were enrolled at career centers and Brett Smith, Superintendent of the Pickaway Ross Career and Technology Center has made his staff available to assist those students who need help.
