OGT News: Achievement on OGT huge for area graduates

The News-Herald reports that students in Lake and Geauga Counties performed exceedingly well on the Ohio Graduation Test with more than 98 percent of seniors passing all five sections. Three districts report a 100 percent success rate. The article also claims that people are feeling the need to continue their education in order to compete in the global market.

OGT News: 3 city schools test perfect on Ohio Graduation Test

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that three Cincinnati Public Schools had all students pass the Ohio Graduation Test. Some people, such as Cincinnati Federation of Teachers president Tim Kraus, were claiming the test to be unfair due to 80 percent of the failing students coming from six of the districts fifteen schools. The districts overall scores were near the state average, but outperformed several other urban areas in the the state.
