OGT News: OGT week comes to an end
Most high schools administered the state's mandated graduation test last week. So today brings a big sigh of relief in districts across the state.
The Ohio Graduation Test window is March 12-25 for all five tests - math, reading, writing, science and social studies.
The state's 10th graders took their first swing at the test. If they didn't pass all sections, there will be additional tries during the junior and senior years. However, starting this year, no senior will be able to get a diploma without passing all parts of the test.
As of the start of the testing period last week, about 30,000 seniors across the state had not passed all five sections. Their chances were running out.
In some areas, freshmen took an OGT practice test as the upperclassmen took the real thing. Practicing for the OGT is easy. There are lots of practice tools on the market, from flash cards to study books to online tests that mirror the OGT itself.
IQ-ity's practice tool is online and designed expressly for Ohio students by Ohio educators. It is aligned with the state's educational standards, benchmarks and grade-level indicators.
Until September, Ohio school districts can try out the IQ-ity practice tool at no charge. This free trial period gives professional educators a chance to experience IQ-ity's practice test and compare it to Study Island and similar products on the market.
